About Pendulum Hotel
Sackville Street sits right in the heart of Manchester, surrounded by bars, restaurants and entertainment within easy walking distance, and this is where the Pendulum Hotel makes its home. With 117 rooms, it's a sizeable base for exploring the city, and free on-site parking makes it a practical choice for those arriving by car despite the central setting.
Rooms come with the usual comforts, though some are on the smaller side and a little dated, and not all have air conditioning, so it's worth bearing in mind in warmer months. Guests have use of a restaurant and bar on site, a spacious breakfast spread each morning, an indoor swimming pool, gym and spa or sauna, plus free WiFi throughout. A lift, luggage storage and porter service take care of the practical side of a stay, and there are meeting rooms for those travelling on business.
Beyond the hotel doors, Sackville Street puts guests within reach of Manchester's wider dining and pub scene, with plenty of eateries and entertainment nearby for evenings out. The location and the range of facilities on site make it a straightforward, well-equipped option for a city stay.

What guests say
I read some reviews saying this was really basic and still felt like student halls, but for £80 a night I thought it was great. Great location, really friendly efficient staff, and some cool stuff in the hotel like the entry statue and the swinging pendulum. It is pretty basic room wise but the rooms were bigger than a premier inn, I’d definitely stay again. Easy waking to Chinese and gay areas. Would definitely stay again for the price. Mattresses not the best but overall it was a bargain. We had a shower and bath, it was very clean, large room and tv.

Lovely comfy bed and a nice, roomy shower made this room stand out from others elsewhere, with probably better reviews. Everything was nice and clean and really the only thing lacking was a bedside cabinet to put your coffee on in the morning. Would recommend.

Having booked to stay I paid for early check-in. When I got into the room I was hit by a wall of heat. A small office style fan was provided but all this did was push hot air around the room. I would not be able to sleep under these conditions so chose to stay elsewhere. Staff apologised but made no offer to refund the £21 paid for early check-in nor any other good will gesture. The room was small, dated and alternative fully air conditioned accommodation was found at a lower price 5 minute walk away.

The hotel is in a great location. However, there is no AC in the rooms, and it feels like sleeping in a desert when it's 30 degrees outside. I also doubt the cleanliness because we found an open soap without a dispenser pump and a disposable razor left behind by previous guests.

People say this hotel is a great value for money with a central location, offers a wide variety of breakfast foods, and has friendly, helpful staff.
Other reviews mention rooms can be small and dated, and there can be no air conditioning.
