About Waterside Hotel & Leisure Club
For anyone planning a trip built around swimming lengths, sweating out the week in a thermal suite or squeezing in a gym session at any hour, Waterside Hotel & Leisure Club makes a sensible base. It sits on Wilmslow Road, within reach of Manchester city centre, and pairs its leisure facilities with 45 guest rooms, each en-suite, including family and accessible options.
Rooms are comfortable rather than spacious, so this suits guests who plan to spend their time in the pool or gym rather than lounging in their room. Breakfast and evening meals are served in the restaurant, with a snack bar and bar also on site, plus drinks and room service available for quieter evenings in. Outside, there's a garden, picnic area and outdoor seating for milder days, and the hotel also caters for weddings.
Free on-site parking makes it easy to arrive by car, and the surrounding area has a golf course, pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby for those wanting to venture beyond the leisure club. Staff are consistently described as helpful and professional, and the hotel is generally considered good value for what's on offer.

What guests say
Staff very friendly. Leisure facilities great. Room, small but nice. No Aircon, so was roasting, so hot went and slept in car instead. You do get a fan, but windows only open 4" like most hotels View from restaurant of lovely flood defences. And a large crack in brickwork running the entire length of front of the building. Sure in the winter rooms fine. Bit will not stay here again. Odd that no review ever gets a reply from the hotel. Do they not care, or want to defend themselves?

I went down on my dive club annual trip to Plymouth and stopped here food and staff were great rooms were tidy and clean. Little bit warmer but to be fair we had a lovely balcony so we can overlook the sort of harbour and sort of look over and receive Plymouth at the distance. Superb location and yeah great for sort of jumping on the little taxi boat taxis. And yeah easy to get around. Definitely would stop here again 😉

Extremely friendly staff who are on point with their service both in regards to friendlyness, attentiveness and overal bravado. The food was quite nice ; with a shout out to the Biryani Arancini for doing the fusion of two cultures quite deliciously! This next to the good location between the airport and the city centre, yet far away enough/with isolated enough rooms that you can't hear the planes when you want some shut eye. The views from the lower floors are still dammed up a bit due to flood prevention but you'l hit some nice riverside spots with a small walk. The spa was quite nice with multiple sauna's, steam rooms and hot tubs meaning that there's always one that's peacefull and/or with room for you. There are both mixed and gender seperated sauna's. If the opportunity comes again I will surely keep this lovely hotel in mind.

I visited Waterside Club for the first time. While the facilities are undeniably beautiful, my experience was awful. The staff’s behavior was shockingly rude. They kept asking me, “Are you okay?” in such an off-putting, insistent way that it ruined any relaxation. I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. When I raised this with two managers, they offered no apology. Honestly, it’s a shame because it’s a lovely place, but the staff’s attitude was so off-putting that I’m now unsure if I’ll ever want to return. It’s deeply disappointing for a place that’s supposed to offer a pleasant escape.
