About The Lodge at Cowdray

The Lodge at Cowdray occupies an 18th-century building that began life as the estate's golf clubhouse, converted into a seven-room bed and breakfast overlooking the polo grounds, the championship golf course and the Cowdray Ruins.

Rooms range from the standalone Willow, with a king-size bed and roll-top bath, to the larger Oak Suite with its own sitting area, alongside four smaller double rooms each with an ensuite bathroom. Breakfast is served at the nearby clubhouse rather than on site, adding a small country-club ritual to the stay.

Its estate setting, a short walk from Benbow Pond and the farm shop, makes it a quieter, more characterful alternative to a town-centre hotel for anyone visiting Cowdray's polo, golf or the ruins themselves.

Guests mention the rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable, featuring wonderful showers and Egyptian cotton sheets. They also highlight the delicious breakfast, excellent value, and professional, accommodating staff.

Some reviews mention there can be road noise.
