Draig's Cottage is a two-bedroom mews house in a gated courtyard in Abergavenny, sleeping four. It suits couples, small families, or friends sharing – the bedrooms are a king and two singles, with a single bathroom. You have the whole cottage to yourself, and one well-behaved dog can come too, at no extra charge. The essentials are covered: electricity, heating, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are all included.
The ground floor holds the living room with a 50-inch smart TV, and a kitchen/dining room with an electric cooker, fridge and washing machine. A bath with shower is upstairs. Outside, you share a courtyard with other properties on-site; there's a sitting area with garden furniture and a BBQ, plus a bike store. The town centre – shops, cafés, restaurants and a pub with live music on Friday and Sunday evenings – is fifty yards away. There is no smoking inside.
Abergavenny sits at the edge of serious walking and cycling country. The Brecon Beacons National Park and Black Mountains are within reach, and routes like Offa's Dyke Path and the Beacons Way pass through town. Sugarloaf, the Blorenge and the five hills offer day walks and rides. Fishing, golf and horse riding are available locally. A public car park nearby charges £6.20 per day; you can unload at the courtyard gate.
