The Carriage House
Monmouthshire
Llanfoist sits in the shadow of the Brecon Beacons, a village where walking trails and country pubs are within reach and the landscape feels genuinely remote. The Carriage House occupies what was once the stable block of the grand Llanfoist House, a setting that has left its mark on the building's character—beamed ceilings and period details run through the rooms, and the main living space centres on a gas fire in an old inglenook. A second sitting room offers a quieter retreat.
The house holds four bedrooms across three storeys: two super-kingsize rooms and a double on the first floor, each with its own bathroom, and a pair of singles on the second floor in an ensuite. The ground floor comprises a full-size kitchen with electric oven and gas hob, a dining room, study, utility room with washing machine, and an additional shower room. Bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are provided, and there is an enclosed courtyard with garden furniture. Parking includes a garage for two cars and a third space outside. One dog stays free; smoking is not permitted. The stairs are steep and spiral in places.
