About The Spires Edinburgh
Hanover Street puts The Spires Edinburgh within easy reach of the city's main sights, with Edinburgh Waverley station close by for arrivals and day trips further afield, and Edinburgh Zoo also within reach for those wanting a change of pace. The surrounding streets are well stocked with pubs, restaurants and entertainment, making it simple to spend an evening without needing to travel far.
The hotel itself has 18 rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, and guests have use of a restaurant, bar, gym, and spa with sauna on site. Breakfast is available, free WiFi runs throughout, and there's a lift, garden, and luggage storage for practical needs. Meeting rooms and business services are provided for those travelling for work, and the property also hosts weddings. Pets are welcome, and free on-site parking is a useful bonus in a city where parking can be difficult.
Guests find the rooms well-equipped and the location hard to beat for value, though it's worth noting that service can be limited at times and noise from a nearby nightclub has been mentioned by some visitors. For those prioritising a central base with good facilities over a quiet night's sleep, it remains a practical choice.

What guests say
Rooms great and spacious with comfortable bed. Great location and close to centre and well priced. Reception is non existent. Was not there when we checked in or any time later. Huge lack of communication as went to our room after no reception, let ourselves in and bed was not made. Had to call and explained linen delivery crashed so was not ready and we were never told this. Asked for late check out the next day and agreed as 12 by one of the cleaners? at reception. Then came to our room and said it was 11 so no communication at all between staff or customers. Luggage storage also non existent as bags get left in the hall and not secure at all

The photos do not reflect the state of up keep of the apartment: the small ‘couch’ (more of a hard chair) were all worn with tears on the seat The walls and floors were dirty…stains and peeling parts of the walls. The was a chunk of wood missing from the hob. Vomit in the kitchen sink on arrival. Mouse seen in the sitting room. Location is directly above a nightclub. Sheets and towels were clean. The stay was not cheap. While the 20% refund was appreciated, I would rather value for money in accommodation that is accurately reflected in the websites photos. I had thought I was getting nice accommodation to treat my parents to a nice stay in Edinburgh. It needs maintenance, painting, carpet cleaning and pest control. Buyer beware

The apartment is ideally located for Edinburgh city centre and easily walkable from the train station. The apartment is of a good size and has a modern bathroom. The bedroom was ok, but the mattress was disgusting and covered in brown and yellow stains and hairs. The reception desk is staffed between 9-5 and the young man on reception was helpful and polite. The communal areas are dirty and the carpets are covered in stains.

2 bedroom apartment said both with ensuite. 1 en suite only and 1 separate bathroom. We were booked into 16 on top floor and on day of travel received email to say we were now in room 5 on bottom floor. Guessing from the horrendous noise from the club below, somebody else had stayed before and did not want to be in room 5. Beds lovely and comfortable, just would have been nice to get more sleep in them! Didn't mind the 'city noise' at all, all part of the experience. Just didn't appreciate the last minute move which was obviously to accommodate other guests. Great location. Cold, wet January weather so would have appreciated heating coming on earlier in the evening. Pleasant greeting on arrival and good communication throughout booking process. Not sure description as luxury apartments is accurate.
