North Uist's crofting townships are scattered across moorland and machair, with beaches and bird sanctuaries defining the landscape. Maari stands as a detached house in Ahmor, a small hamlet reached by ferry from Skye or the mainland. The setting puts you close to golden sand at Clachan Sands, the RSPB sanctuary, and the Hebridean Way cycle route that passes nearby.
Inside, a ground-floor arrangement suits families: one double bedroom with its own shower room, a family bathroom, and a separate toilet by the back door. Upstairs are two more bedrooms—another double and a twin. The living room has a woodburner, and the kitchen is fully fitted for cooking, with a dining table alongside. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi come as standard, along with initial fuel for the burner. Parking for three cars sits at the back, and the garden is fenced.
The immediate area offers walks at Traigh Ìar beach, the Iron Age fort at Dun an Sticir, and Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum in Lochmaddy. From here you can explore Benbecula, South Uist, Barra and Harris by driving or ferry. No smoking is permitted in the property.
