About Cairn Hotel Newcastle Upon
Osborne Road sits in one of Newcastle upon Tyne's leafier stretches, within reach of the metro and close to local pubs and restaurants, and it's here that the Cairn Hotel Newcastle Upon makes its home. The building holds 43 rooms, generally described as clean and roomy, though some are a little dated in style, and each comes with air conditioning and free WiFi as standard.
Guests get a proper start to the day with a well-stocked breakfast buffet, and the on-site restaurant and bar cover meals and drinks without needing to head out. There's also a gym for those keen to keep up a routine, a garden for quieter moments, and meeting rooms and wedding facilities for events. Porter services and luggage storage add convenience for anyone travelling light or arriving early.
Staff are consistently noted as friendly and helpful, even if service standards can vary. Free on-site parking makes driving in straightforward, and Beamish Open Air Museum lies nearby for a day out beyond the city centre.

What guests say
Great location in central West Jesmond. The rooms are fine for the price point paid. On the first night there was a lot of noise from the room upstairs, for some reason the flooring is wooden flooring in the rooms and people walking around non stop upstairs until 3am did keep me awake. I spoke to the staff in the morning and I was moved to another room where there would be no noise from above. I would stay again, for a functional reasonably priced hotel.

Perfect location in Jesmond. Our room was large and very comfortable. Really pleased to have a mini-fridge! Parking can be a challenge, but we had no problems. The Waitrose and Tesco are right around the corner, assistance Greggs, Cafe Nero, Starbucks, plenty of restaurants and cafes, and Boots and Johnson Cleaners. Easy walk to the Metro Station. As we were here during a hot spell, we had our windows open. By 11:00, all was quite in the bars below. This was our 4th stay here, and it was great! Looking forward to our next visit.

Stayed here last weekend, Saturday & Sunday night. No receptionist or other staff available at the site where we were staying. Had to go to the other part of the hotel across & further down the road to check in & get our keys. Not an easy task with our bags, cases & the road works, as there was no-one to leave them with where we were staying. No offer of help with our bags or finding our rooms on the way back. Definitely not for the disabled as lots of stairs & steps along the corridors. Our room was at the very front on the first floor above the outside bar area. Didn't sleep at all first night with noise from dozens of people outside & traffic. By far the worst thing the smell in the room & adjoining corridors (mentioned in another review) which i can only desribe as a sewage smell. Nephew booked the hotel so didn't see this review before. Could be a coincidence but have been ill since returning home on Monday.

pleasantly surprised and impressed by this hotel, an old building but pretty much renovated throughout with modern bedrooms and bathrooms with all the amenities you need. Lovely lobby and original staircase with narrow corridors but open into tidy and spacious bedrooms. Breakfast was plentiful and staff were friendly and accommodating.
