About Hilton Newcastle Gateshead

Bottle Bank runs down to the south side of the Tyne, and from this stretch of riverside the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead looks straight across the water to the bridges that link Newcastle and Gateshead. It's a substantial hotel with 254 rooms across six floors, many recently refurbished and a good number looking directly onto the river.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and the usual comforts, including family and accessible options and a bridal suite for those marrying nearby. Breakfast is served in the restaurant and guests speak well of its range, while the bar and room service cover the rest of the day. Downstairs there's an indoor pool, spa and sauna, plus a gym, and the hotel also handles meetings, weddings and business events with dedicated meeting rooms and concierge support. Air conditioning doesn't always keep up in warmer weather, worth bearing in mind if travelling in summer.

Staff are consistently described as helpful, and the location puts guests within reach of pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby, plus a golf course for those wanting to venture further. On-site parking is available for a charge, and there's an electric vehicle charge point for those driving up. Pets are welcome too, making it a flexible base by the water.

An amazing hotel, we have had a fabulous time! The rooms were clean and spacious (the lady at the front desk moved us to a room with a view!), they also left us a little welcome gift. The hotel itself is well kept and gorgeous with a pretty water feature in the lobby. The buffet breakfast was to die for, with omelettes to order and fresh hot food. All of the staff we encountered were some of the most lovely I've seen. It is situated in the city centre with lots to do all around for both families and solo travellers. I really do reccommend this hotel, and we will definitely be coming back with more family!

I don’t normally write reviews but 100% will not be back here no where near the standard it used to be feel a bit upset as we got gifted a hotel gift from our wedding and chose to stay here and feel like it was a waste of money £202 a night. Some of the staff were very rude didn’t have that warm welcoming feeling the man on the pool reception was particularly rude. The food was very basic a steak at £30 and it was the most chewiest one I have ever tasted. The pool was freezing cold and the changing rooms were dirty I wrapped my kids in towels and took them back to the room as you could see the mud prints on the floor of the changing rooms. The room was ok nothing special but it worked for me my husband and 2 kids the bath was unclean with a build up of limescale the handrail still had sweat off the previous guests I always strip beds for the housekeepers as a thank you but when stripping there was blood on the mattress protector. The breakfast was very poor cold dryed food flys on the bread for £202 I would expect more not this standard.

Rooms are very nice. Service was good on arrival and departure. Food was poor, and one of the staff was so disinterested in her job she could barely grunt at you. Another member of staff was very nice and friendly and clearly understood customer service
