About Osborne Hotel
Osborne Hotel suits visitors who want a relaxed base away from the thick of the city centre but still close enough to reach it easily. Set on Osborne Road in Jesmond, it works well for couples, business travellers and anyone attending a wedding, given the venue space on offer, while free on-site parking (though limited and allocated first come first served) makes it a practical choice for those arriving by car.
The hotel has 22 rooms, kept clean and comfortable, with air conditioning and free WiFi throughout. Breakfast is a genuine highlight, with vegetarian options included, and there's a restaurant, bar and snack bar for meals and drinks without needing to leave the building. Guests also have access to a gym, a spa and sauna, a garden, meeting rooms, luggage storage and porter services, and staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful.
Jesmond itself has plenty of pubs, bars and restaurants nearby, along with other entertainment options, making it easy to spend an evening on foot. Between the facilities on-site and the value it offers, Osborne Hotel is a sensible pick for anyone wanting comfort without a city-centre price tag.
What guests say
Quite conflicted about this one, the staff were all excellent and breakfast was really good - both above what I'd expect at a 2 star rated hotel. Location is good, everything was clean and it's well connected, 5 minutes walk to Jesmond Metro. Clearly a small operation run with lots of love and care, with clear investment into the rooms and restaurant too - so I don't want to bash that. Where it fell down for me is price, at ~£95 a night I expect a good night's sleep and I didn't get that. The age of the building lets it down here, it's warm in the summer, no AC meaning you need to have the windows open - thus meaning poor noise insulation. I could clearly hear my next door neighbour snoring all through the night, punctuated by cars with loud exhausts and/or music booting it up the main road outside. I found the bed very firm which I don't mind, but the springs were very noticeable and uncomfortable. I accept a lot of this is beyond the control of the owners of the hotel, and beyond what you can realistically put right when operating a 2 star hotel in an older building. So I absolutely commend their efforts, very solid, but would warn the above caveats - if these are deal breakers for you, it's worth knowing.

The staff were amazing. My dad left his charger in the room after check out and Tanya one of the staff members kindly found part of it and posted the rest to our home. Huge thanks to Tanya who was incredibly kind and helpful - she was brilliant and made our experience of the hotel a great one. Overall the hotel was excellent value

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel! The room was lovely—spacious, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic. Most of all, the staff went above and beyond—so friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, specifically Kiran and Laura. Can't recommend this place enough! Out of all the hotels in Jesmond (and we've been through pretty much all) this is by far the best, our new favourite!
