Altbeg

Isle of Arran offers mountains, beaches and forest trails within reach of everyday shops and restaurants. Altbeg sits on a quiet lane above the coastal path between Brodick and Lamlash, putting both the island's main town and its wilder spaces within easy reach. The stone cottage was fully refurbished in 2019 but keeps original character, with an open fire in the living room and woodburner in the dining room.

Three bedrooms sleep six: one with a kingsize bed, one with two singles, and one with bunk beds. Two bathrooms serve the property—one with a shower cubicle, one with a bath and shower. Downstairs holds a living room and separate dining room, both with smart TVs, plus a kitchen equipped for proper cooking (electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave) and a conservatory. Bed linen, towels, wifi and electricity are included; fuel for both fires is provided. There's an enclosed garden with seating and a gas barbecue, and parking for one car on site.

The island suits walkers and cyclists year-round, with access to six golf courses, water sports, horse riding and the Lochranza whisky distillery. Brodick Castle and various local food producers—chocolate, cheese, soap—are within reach. No smoking in the property.
