Southcroft Lodge is a four-bedroom house on the Isle of Arran, sleeping seven, with one bathroom and a separate toilet. The ground floor holds a living room with a woodburner, a kitchen and dining area equipped for cooking and washing up, and a conservatory. Upstairs are four bedrooms: one king, one double, two singles, and another single. A double shower, heated towel rail and the separate toilet complete the facilities. Wifi and heating are included, as is bed linen and towels; the woodburner's initial fuel is also provided. An enclosed front garden has seating and a barbecue, with parking on the road outside.
Arran is roughly 19 miles long and 10 miles wide, combining accessible coastline with a more rugged interior. From this property you can reach sheltered beaches, mountain biking trails, sea kayaking spots and scrambling routes; island safaris and paragliding are also available if you want them. The Arran Distillery offers tours and tastings. A short ferry from the island takes you to the Holy Isle, home to a Buddhist community and roaming animals. The island's villages dot the coast, while the interior holds forests and peaks. Local food producers make cheese, beer, oatcakes, chocolate and ice cream. No smoking indoors. One well-behaved pet can stay free of charge.
