The Royal Arran is a substantial house on the Isle of Arran's shoreline at Whiting Bay, designed in the Arts and Crafts style and built at the turn of the 20th century. It has been fitted out as a holiday home for groups and larger families, with six bedrooms and eight bathrooms spread across two floors. Three separate living spaces mean everyone does not need to occupy the same room; two have wood burners and smart TVs, and one is quieter and without television. A ground-floor bedroom has patio doors opening to the garden.
The property has two kitchens, each independently equipped. The main one houses a range cooker, electric oven, gas hob and two dishwashers; the second has an electric oven, gas hob and dishwasher, plus a separate utility room with washing and tumble-drying facilities. Breakfast areas and dining rooms allow flexible seating for a large party. All bedrooms are ensuite—one features a roll-top bath, another a four-poster bed with a slipper bath. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included, along with logs for the wood burners. Two travel cots and two highchairs are available. The large garden has two patios, furniture and a barbecue; parking accommodates six cars. One dog is welcome. Smoking is not permitted indoors. The property has an unfenced stream 15 yards from the house.
