Couples and small families will find Elmstone Retreat a self-contained base in rural North Devon, a short drive from the coast. The whole property is yours alone: a ground-floor open-plan living space with a wood burner, sofa and dining area, plus a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. Upstairs, a kingsize bedroom comes with a separate small cot room—useful if you're travelling with a baby. The wet room is lined in marble. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included.

The real draw is access to Coulscott Estate's shared facilities: a heated indoor swimming pool, games room, play areas for children and a five-a-side pitch. The property opens onto a courtyard with seating and garden furniture. A pub lies within a mile. The setting suits people after quieter countryside rather than bustle; smoking is not permitted. One well-behaved pet is welcome.

A gorgeous cottage in a lovely part of Devon with stunning views of the countryside. A party of us stayed for three nights with walks and yoga lessons part of the package. Firstly the house is very nice with a very modern and well equipped kitchen and a large dining area. There is plenty of storage space for food and provisions with a large fridge and seperate freezer. Bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable and the bathrooms are modern and very clean. The gardens are large and very peaceful with a nice BBQ area. Clara gave us a few yoga lessons which were in a lovely converted barn with great views of the countryside. Graham was really helpful with ideas for walks and places to visit. A fantastic long weekend that was really comfortable and very relaxing. Would definitely recommend.

Visited for yoga retreat June 2026. Beautiful location for walking and relaxing. Great company, lots of healthy food and a talented, experienced yoga teacher, who happens to also be a really nice person to spend time with. WiFi was a bit touch and go, which had its benefits. Fibre is planned in the next couple of weeks. Looking forward to the next retreat.

Spent a lovely weekend with four friends in this gorgeous old farmhouse. We enjoying exploring the stunning gardens and relaxing in the beautifully furnished kitchen and lounge. Will definitely be back to explore more of the Little Dart Valley
