🏡 Self-Catering Cottage

Hidden Gem

North Devon

Photo: Google Maps

Families and small groups will find Hidden Gem works well for a flexible stay. Three en-suite bedrooms—a kingsize on the lower ground floor, another kingsize (convertible to twin beds) also downstairs, and a third on the ground floor with a day bed—give everyone their own space. The main living area is open-plan, with a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, a dining space, and a lounge with a wood-burning stove. Bedroom 1 has a sliding door into the living area, so it can function as a separate sitting room when not needed for sleeping. Essentials including heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are provided; a travel cot and highchair are available on request.

The cottage sits above Berrynarbor village on a quiet hillside, with partial sea views and woodland on three sides. A gravelled and lawned garden has a patio, terrace and barbecue. Parking for two cars is on-site, and there's an electric vehicle charging point (£20, payable to the owner). Walking distance gets you to the village shop and pub, though the lane back up to the property is steep. Ilfracombe, about four miles away, has beaches, restaurants and shops. Exmoor National Park is within two miles, and the wider coastline offers numerous walking routes. The property is non-smoking.
