North Thorne - The Calving Barn

The Calving Barn started life as a farm building and has been converted into a two-bedroom cottage for four guests. It stands a mile from Exmoor National Park, within easy reach of North Devon's beaches and Wistlandpound Reservoir, where you can walk the perimeter or watch for wildlife. The property is yours alone, with parking for two cars on site and a enclosed garden with seating and a barbecue.

Downstairs there's a living and dining room with Freeview TV, and a kitchen equipped for cooking proper meals. Upstairs, one bedroom has a double bed and the other has two single beds. The single bathroom includes both a bath and walk-in shower. Heating, electricity, wifi, bed linen and towels are all included. One dog is welcome if kept on a lead. No smoking inside.

The location suits walkers and anyone wanting access to both the moor and the coast without the bustle of a seaside town. Combe Martin is a short drive away, as are Saunton Sands and Croyde for swimming and surfing. The site sits in a designated Dark Sky area, so stargazing is possible on clear nights.
