North Thorne - The Tractor Barn occupies a quiet spot just beyond this town, positioned to make the most of what the area offers without being in the thick of it.
The barn conversion holds two bedrooms—one with a double bed upstairs, one downstairs with two single beds—plus a bathroom with bath and separate shower. The ground floor contains the living and dining space, with a kitchen equipped for proper cooking: electric oven, hob, microwave and fridge. Essentials like electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included. Out back there's a patio area with garden furniture and a barbecue. Two cars can park on site, and one dog is welcome as long as it stays on a lead.
From here you can reach Wistlandpound for quiet walks or wildlife watching, drive to the beaches within minutes, or head onto Exmoor's trails. The property doesn't allow smoking.

A very special find - we’ve stayed twice in the last 12 months in the Tractor Barn. North Thorne has that very rare blend of fab accommodation, a special (and very beautiful) location with lots to do just out the door and amazing hosts. Andrew and Sarah are very welcoming, kind and have lots of excellent suggestions for places to eat and things to do. We’d really recommend a stay here, it’s a very special place.

We spent last weekend at North Thorne Cottages and Glamping, just a short trip from some of Devon's lovely surfing towns, and we couldn't have asked for a better stay. The owners truly take care of their guests — warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly from start to finish. The site itself is beautiful and impeccably well maintained. It was such a pleasure to recharge our batteries and properly rest in this lovely spot surrounded by nature. Everything you need for a relaxing getaway is right here. We're really happy with our experience and would highly recommend North Thorne to anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with nature. A wonderful place that absolutely deserves five stars. We'll be back!

We had a wonderful stay and created some lovely memories. There were so many activities and attractions for both adults and children. Our kids were never bored – they enjoyed all the games, outdoor activities and riding their bikes around the site. The animals were a fantastic attraction and added to the unique experience. The facilities were excellent and perfect for spending quality time with friends and family. A huge bonus was having separate bathrooms, which made everything much more comfortable. We genuinely loved the atmosphere and the beautiful surroundings. We are convinced we will be back again in the future. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

What a wonderful place. We stayed here twice this year; once in the Tractor Barn and once on the glamping site. Both times we enjoyed fabulous hospitality with great local knowledge and recommendations. The location of North Thorne is so incredibly peaceful. In the summer, we sat out for hours enjoying the swallows' aeronautical displays overhead. The walking around here is superb. Nearby Wistpoundland Reservoir is great for bird spotting. We will be rebooking for next year with a group of friends. Great safe space for families with children.
