Gatehouse North occupies one of two Victorian lodges that once marked the entrance to Worstead Park. You arrive on the ground floor into a single-level layout: a living room with woodburner and smart TV opens to a kitchen/dining room fitted with electric cooker and dishwasher, and beyond that a games room with pool table. Three bedrooms sleep six—one with a zip-and-link pair of single beds and ensuite shower, one with a double, and one with two singles. The second bathroom has a bath with shower attachment. A utility room houses a washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave and fridge/freezer.
The property sits within 300 acres of meadow and woodland managed as private parkland, a quarter-mile walk from the house. Red deer roam the grounds, and the lake, canal and dense tree cover make this landscape rich for bird watching, cycling and longer walks. The rear garden wraps two sides of the gatehouse, with a patio, seating area and gas barbecue. A hot tub is available for guests. Parking accommodates four cars; one dog stays free. The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi—are included, and there is a welcome pack on arrival. No smoking throughout.

We had the most perfect stay while celebrating my daughter’s 16th birthday. The location is truly special — it feels wonderfully secluded, like a real countryside escape from day-to-day life. The cottage was exceptionally well equipped, and the quality of the finish was outstanding. We especially loved the games room and the hot tub, which made for the perfect family evenings together. We would definitely love to return.

Wow Gatehouse North you exceeded our expectations! We visited this lovely property for my dad’s 50th Birthday, the attention to detail was incredible from dog biscuits to coffees/sugars and even Prosecco and cookies. The setting is beautiful you’re based in the woodlands with no other properties around which is amazing and very quiet! The Games Room and hot tub was amazing and great fun. A great time had by all, thank you for a lovely stay we will be back soon…: The Griffiths family x

We had the most perfect stay at Gatehouse North - we were a party of six adults and felt the cottage was super spacious, spotlessly clean, homely with a well equipped kitchen, excellent amenities and very comfortable beds. We will definitely be booking to come back for another trip. The garden is private and has field views, the location is peaceful and quiet, yet very easy to find. If you are looking for a place to stay as a group this property has it all, the games room and hot tub are a great touch. Thank you to Hayley and her team.

We stayed here with friends in February 2025 and I'm pleased to say how wonderful the cottage is. Very comfortable with ample room for 4 adults. Strikes a great balance between a traditional farm style with modern conveniences. The outdoor space is great. A large patio facing East for the perfect view of early morning sun. 1 mile from the local village along the quiet road. Definitely recommended for a long weekend as the coast and local town isn't far away plus, the surrounding countryside is lovely.
