Underhill sits within the North York Moors, and Arncliffe View is a 1640s cottage that has been restored to combine period character with modern comfort. The property sleeps six across three bedrooms—a double, a kingsize, and twins on the top floor—with two bathrooms, so there is space enough for families or groups. You have the entire cottage to yourselves, along with a rear garden with patio seating and parking for four vehicles. One pet can stay with you at no extra cost.
The ground floor centres on a living room with exposed stone, beams and a wood burner, where original salt and spice cupboards survive. The kitchen-dining area opens off it, dressed with quartz worktops and a second wood burner for atmosphere on cooler evenings. A utility room and shower room complete this level. Upstairs, two generous bedrooms lead to a bathroom with a freestanding bath. The second floor has the twin room tucked under the eaves. The essentials are covered: heating (including underfloor), electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi. Logs for the burners are provided. There is an electric car charging point if you need it.
The cottage works well for families wanting a proper retreat in the Moors, with the village of Underhill close by. The garden has nine steps, and smoking is not permitted inside.

Beautiful, characterful cottage with lots of interesting historic features. Kitchen was really modern and well-provisioned, and the lounge was cosy and cute. The bedrooms were comfy and the attic conversion was a fun place for our little girl to sleep. We loved the two patio areas with fantastic views which also catch the sun from early morning right through to tea time. I would warn the cottage is not too friendly to the very tall! It is a very old cottage with low beams in the ceiling... the staircases are also a bit narrow and uneven so those with mobility issues might want to consider that. However, this didn't put us off: we loved our stay and felt very much at home in this charming, comfortable home!

Beautiful property in a great location. We stayed the Easter weekend as a group of 4 and couldn’t have been happier with this place. The garden is excellent with great views and a fantastic seating area, the cottage itself has been renovated to a very high standard and has the perfect balance of modern amenities while retaining the traditional vibe. Location is excellent with great walks accessible from the doorstep, 1 pub in walking distance and a 5 minute drive from a couple of really nice pubs in Egton Bridge. Really good value for money when compared with other much more highly priced stays we have had.

We have just enjoyed a very satisfactory and relaxing stay at Arncliffe view. The cottage is full of charm, with a sympathetic mix of the original features and a lovely kitchen with all mod cons available. The bedrooms are all very spacious and comfortable and nice and clean. We spent many hours sitting in the garden, enjoying the wonderful views and great weather. Glaisdale is a very quiet and charming village, which provides a great base for walking far and wide, and for visiting the many coastal and inland attractions. The local pubs are all good, and not far to drive to. We thoroughly recommend this property and Lee, the owner, was always on hand to answer any queries promptly. What a privilege it was to stay in Arncliffe View. Lee and Lynne were great hosts with regular communication. Entry was easy and was wonderfully surprised when inside the property. It felt so homely and it had every conceivable luxury, underfloor heating in shower and bathroom, incredible kitchen with all mod cons. Very spacious comfy bedrooms and an attic bedroom/play area the grandchildren thought was awesome. The views from the patio and kitchen/lounge across the valley were gorgeous. Lots of walks available without needing to use the car. My favourite was the moors only 800 yds up the road. Will definitely be back and will be telling all our friends (well not too many!). Within 20 mins of Whitby, Sandsend, Runswick Bay etc and many other attractions to keep the kids entertained. Would strongly recommend a stay.
