Ripley village sits within walking distance of this converted farm building on mixed arable land. The cottage occupies a quiet corner of the countryside, where red kites, curlews and lapwings are regularly spotted. Harrogate lies ten minutes' drive away if you want shops, restaurants and entertainment; the castle itself—with its gardens, tearoom and summer events—is closer still.
Buttercup Cottage has two bedrooms (one with a super king bed, one with a single) and two bathrooms. The ground floor combines a living room and kitchen, opening onto a patio with garden furniture. You can cook properly here, with an electric oven and hob, microwave and full-sized fridge. Biomass underfloor heating keeps things warm through the year. Wifi, bed linen and towels are provided; there's also a shared utility room where you'll find a washing machine, dryer and storage for walking gear and bicycles. One dog can stay at no extra cost, though it must be kept on lead because of livestock nearby. The whole place is yours alone, with private parking on site. Smoking is not permitted.
