My wife and I stayed here on a recommendation for our anniversary. I'm glad to say we weren't disappointed. The estate is stunning, the rooms were clean and tidy with no issues at all. The staff were only to happy to help and very welcoming and pleasant. Breakfast and dinner were both excellent. The whole experience was so good we booked in for another night, and were given recommendations for places to visit locally. 10 out of 10.

Just returned from The Boar's Head, a lovely village hotel in a perfect setting, a stone's throw from Ripley Castle & beautiful grounds. Hotel staff were attentive, friendly & professional, going above normal standards to make our stay a pleasant one. It has one of the most comprehensive breakfast menus, which was delicious. Can highly recommend. Thank you, and special thanks to the receptionist, you were very helpful 😊

Stayed 3 nights with a large group, touring the area in our sports cars. Hotel staff were exceptional, friendly and professional. Dinners were excellent varied choices and large helpings (they are obviously hungry in Yorkshire). Hotel has lots of character and very clean. Beautiful village.

We had a fabulous anniversary night away. The staff members were excellent, chatty, friendly and couldn't have done more for us. Every person we came across engaged with us. They truly went the extra mile with any requests we had! The service was 5 star, the menu was different to the usual pub menu and it changes seasonally. The steak was cooked perfectly (one of us is a chef) and the side of stem broccoli with lemon/oil and toasted almonds changes you mind about not liking broccoli! The room was cleaned to a point of dust free, the amenities were spot on, and the bed was made to perfection, even the public areas shined (Housekeeping manager here!). We asked for some extra fruit and water, it was no problem at all, waiting for us on arrival. The atmosphere was relaxing. All in all we had a fantastic experience, and we will be back!
