Whitby's seafront and moorland walks are the real draw here. The beach is a ten-minute walk away, and the Cleveland Way runs along the cliffs nearby for serious rambling. The Esk Valley train line connects you to villages across the North York Moors, while the steam railway heads inland to Pickering. Coastal villages like Sandsend, Staithes and Robin Hoods Bay are within reach for a day out.
Coast Apartment is a second-floor flat in the town centre itself, meaning Sherlocks Coffee Shop and the pubs are practically on your doorstep, and the bus and train stations are an easy walk. The open-plan space contains a bedroom with a king bed, a bathroom, and a combined living and kitchen area where you can cook for yourselves. Bed linen, towels and electricity are included. The access involves steep stairs, which may be difficult for those with mobility issues. No smoking throughout the property.
Whitby has the restaurants and seafood you'd expect of a working fishing town, plus antique shops and gift shops scattered through narrow streets. The town hosts regular festival weekends year-round. This is somewhere you come to walk, eat and soak up the place rather than to be entertained in the flat.
