Built from local golden sandstone, Fairhead Cottage sits on a working farm between Grosmont and Goathland in the North York Moors. The cottage has an unusual upside-down arrangement: the open-plan living space with kitchen, dining area and sitting room occupies the first floor, while the bedroom is downstairs. This layout means the living quarters have views across the surrounding farmland and moors.
Inside, you get a king-size bed in the ground-floor bedroom with an ensuite shower, and upstairs a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, a dining area, and a sofa with Freeview Smart TV. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included, and there is parking for one car on site. One dog stays free. The cottage is non-smoking.
The moorland setting makes it a base for walking—the Cleveland Way passes through the area—and for exploring villages like Whitby and Pickering, or riding the heritage steam train that runs through the national park. Grosmont village, half a mile away, has a pub within walking distance and tea rooms.
