Frenchgate Mews suits couples seeking a getaway in the heart of historic Richmond. This Grade II-listed cottage, fully restored in 2021, sits in a quiet mews just off the cobbled Frenchgate, within easy reach of the marketplace, independent shops, galleries and restaurants that fill the town centre. The layout is unconventional by design: the bedroom occupies the ground floor, while the first-floor living space takes advantage of views across Richmond's rooftops towards the castle.
Downstairs, a king-size bedroom with ensuite bathroom (bath with shower over) provides a private retreat. Upstairs, the open-plan living area combines a fitted kitchen with induction hob and dishwasher, dining space for two, and a comfortable lounge with Smart TV and soundbar. Electric heating, wifi, bed linen and towels are included. The cottage is not suitable for smokers. There is on-road parking and a public car park nearby (charged separately).
Richmond itself merits unhurried exploration on foot: the Norman castle, independent retailers, tea rooms and pubs are all within a short walk, and circular routes around the River Swale begin just beyond the town. A pub lies within a mile of the property.

Lovely upside down cottage with great views of Richmond Castle. Close to the town centre amenities. We had no problem parking for free on Frenchgate, a beautiful Georgian street. Sarah dealt with a query we had promptly - the smart tv was too smart for us lol. Would stay again

Just had a wonderful stay at this beautiful apartment. It is exceptionally clean, modern, and comfortable, and came fully equipped with every amenity we needed during our trip. The location is absolutely fantastic—situated just moments from the town centre and within easy walking distance of everything. We also appreciated that parking outside was readily available when we arrived at 6:00 pm. We highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful cottage , lovely decor , comfortable bed and nice crisp cotton bedding. So peaceful and quiet for a really relaxing stay. Sarah the host is really helpful and friendly and available via text or phone should you have any queries. Frenchgate Mews is a delightful little property with all the modern appliances and comforts you could wish for. No hesitation in recommending it for a truly great break in beautiful Richmond.

Gorgeous little cottage in the centre of Richmond. Loved the style and interior of the whole cottage-really beautifully done. Lovely little treats left in the fridge too. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be back. Thank you
