Hindburn

Hindburn sits on the grounds of a converted 1770s farmstead, surrounded by 42 acres of natural woodland. The entire cottage is yours alone—a single ground-floor space with a bedroom, bathroom and combined living, dining and kitchen area. A kingsize bed and an ensuite with bath and shower come as standard. The electric woodburner, Freeview TV and DVD player are there if you want them; the kitchen has what you need to cook, including a dishwasher. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all covered.

The grounds themselves are shared with other properties on the estate, but there's plenty of space: a viewing deck, sitting areas with garden furniture, and a children's play area. A stream and pond run through the land. Walking trails and cycle routes begin at the gate, and the North York Moors lie within easy reach. Pickering, home to the North Yorkshire Moors steam railway, is 6 miles away; Whitby is roughly 13 miles south. A pub sits within a mile. The patio has three steps up to it, and parking for two cars is on site. No smoking indoors.
