Holme House

You enter Holme House through its living room, where a multi-fuel stove and comfortable sofas face a smart TV. The kitchen and dining area flow directly from here, appointed with electric cooking and a dishwasher, anchored by a substantial oak table where most of your meals will happen. A sun room with bi-folding doors opens onto the patio—the route to the garden and the hot tub beyond.

Upstairs are three bedrooms: the largest holds a zip-and-link super kingsize (which can be split into two singles), the second a kingsize with its own ensuite bath, and a third double. The bathrooms include roll-top baths and showers. A travel cot and highchair are available if needed. The garden is enclosed, with terraced areas and seating, plus a children's play area tucked within; note there are steps throughout the grounds. Electricity, WiFi, bed linen and towels are included. Parking is provided for two cars, accessed via a rough private track.

The house sits in rural countryside near Whitby, with views across farmland. It's somewhere to unwind rather than somewhere to venture out from constantly, though Whitby's coast and attractions are within reach. Smoking is not permitted inside.
