The mill pond sits right beside this cottage, fenced for safety, with water on one side and the river beyond. Built in the 1780s to house mill workers, the terraced stone house has been restored to keep its character—exposed beams and stonework throughout—while adding heating, electricity and wifi. Two bedrooms (a double and a bunk room), one bathroom, and a living space with a woodburner mean a family of four can settle in properly. One dog is welcome and stays free; there's an enclosed rear garden with a bench and parking for a single car on site.
The cottage stands at the foot of a country lane in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, a mile from Settle itself, which has pubs, restaurants, a market and a swimming pool. The location works for walking straight out the door into serious countryside—the Three Peaks walks are accessible from here, as are quieter cycling routes through Kingdale. Those wanting to visit the Lake District by car can do that too. Bed linen, towels, logs for the burner and wifi are all included.
