About Knight Stainforth Hall Camping and Caravan Park

Knight Stainforth Hall sits on 45 acres along the River Ribble, about three miles north of Settle and ideally placed for Three Peaks walkers. Run by the same family for generations, it spreads across several level fields with a mix of grass tent pitches, touring pitches and hardstandings. Facilities are notably comprehensive for a Dales site—heated showers and toilets, laundry, a small shop with basics and camping gas, a children's play area, games room and Wi-Fi across most of the grounds. Up to two dogs per pitch are welcome, with a dedicated exercise area provided.

The location is the real draw. Stainforth Force, where salmon leap in autumn, is a short walk away via the National Trust packhorse bridge, and footpaths lead towards Catrigg Force and Malham. Settle's shops, pubs and railway station are ten minutes by car. Pen-y-ghent is close enough that the site fills with walkers on summer weekends, so expect early morning activity. Prices start around £27 for a non-electric pitch for two adults. The site opens spring to late autumn and books up well ahead for bank holidays.

Quite time is 10pm which is very good idea. Nice size pitches. We stayed on both hard standing and camping grass fields. Both good. Showers could do with a modernisation. Although was clean. Nice helpful staff. Pub onsite also nice.

We stayed here for the first time in our motorhome for 3 nights over halloween with 3 other couples in their own caravans. I have to say this was one of the most pleasant stays we have had in the UK. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly and the facilities first class. We went to the quiz on the Friday and despite it being busy they took the time to make room for us and explained how it all worked. The fact we won has not influenced this review ;). On the Saturday we had a table booked in the restaurant and again despite it being busy the staff were so patient and attentive. All the food was exceptional and we even got a discount for winning the quiz! The only slight negatives are the single track road with passing places to access the site and it is a way out of Settle for anyone with mobility issues but we really enjoyed the scenic walk along the river into town.

Don't come if you have an electric car no facilities to charge your car and they won't let you do it even if you have an electric hook up had to end holiday short so we could get home on the battery nothing on the website about it was told the second night we where here as they did a walk around and they saw the car on charge. Been coming here now and again over 40 years as my husband came as a lad with his mum and dad and where have kept in the tradition till now. We won't be coming back due to this. Been on other campsites that where cheaper than this and been able to charge the car at the pitch
