Helmsley's market square is a few minutes' walk away, lined with independent shops, cafes and pubs that make it worth lingering in. Beyond the town, the North Yorkshire countryside opens up—rolling hills, historic estates and quiet villages are within easy reach by car. The Arts Centre is also nearby, hosting exhibitions and events throughout the year.
Ryegate Cottage is a traditional stone building with character throughout: exposed walls, mullioned windows and wooden floors in the main rooms. The ground floor has a sitting room with an open fireplace, and a kitchen equipped with a range cooker and air fryer, leading to a dining space. Upstairs are two double bedrooms, each 4ft 6in; the first has its own ensuite shower, the second shares a bathroom with a full bath. The garden, set behind the cottage, includes a patio for eating outside and a lawned area with mature trees. One well-behaved dog is welcome at no extra cost.
Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included, along with Wi-Fi and initial fuel for the fire. There is on-road parking. The cottage is non-smoking. It sleeps four and is yours alone for the duration of your stay.
