The Helmsley Retreat comes fully equipped for a proper break. The kitchen has everything for cooking—electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, coffee machine—and the open-plan living space flows naturally from cooking through to dining and relaxing. Two bedrooms upstairs (a king and a double) and a walk-in shower complete the layout. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are all included, and there's a welcome pack of local treats to get you started.
What sets this place apart is the spa garden: a hot tub and sauna sit in a private, enclosed space with patio seating, backing onto parking for one car. One dog can stay free. The cottage sits a short walk from Helmsley's market square, where you'll find independent shops, galleries, a microbrewery and cafés. Duncombe Park and Helmsley Castle are nearby, as is the National Centre for Birds of Prey. No smoking inside; children's equipment (travel cot, highchair, stairgate) is available on request.

What a fantastic find. So fabulously appointed. Welcoming basket on arrival , a beautiful touch! Attention to detail throughout, making this rather 5 star!! Its fine furnishings and luxury bedding were wonderful. The sauna and hot tub made this even more special. Bathroom with walk in shower super. The layout of open kitchen into a most welcoming comfortable lounge area, well just perfect! Walking distance to Helmsley is minutes so very convenient indeed. Perfect accommodation for a few days away in Helmsley. Despite the rain we had a great base at The Helmsley Retreat with everything we needed. Enjoyed both the hot tub and sauna despite the rain. Very clean, excellent standard of facilities with upgraded shower since I was last there, improving the accessibility. Lovely and peaceful, private and relaxing. Thank you Tom and Agnes

Beautiful cottage, very clean, modern warm and welcoming on arrival with a thoughtful welcome pack, bread , coffee, doggy treats, crisps, local beer and milk in the fridge. The house is set in a small cul-de-sac, very quiet and private parking a bonus with a short walk to shops and pubs. The kitchen was more than fully equipped with everything you need, comfy sofa and great tv in the lounge. Super comfy beds and pillows with lovely bed linen and plenty of storage. Our first cottage stay and exceeded our expectations with many extras .we didnt expect included . We wouldn’t hesitate to return a real home from home .

We had a lovely week at Helmsley Retreat. The property had everything we needed and Tom and Agnes were lovely hosts. We appreciated the welcome pack and the extra little touches like bathrobes and slippers for an enjoyable stay. The hot tub was a lovely treat after a day out exploring the area. We hope to return one day as we couldn't fault it.
