The Jib Suite

The Jib Suite is a one-bedroom apartment in Whitby with an unexpected architectural feature at its heart—the original servants' staircase from when this was a larger house. That Victorian passageway now connects the split levels of the place, creating a quirky layout that gives the space genuine character. It sleeps three, with a double bedroom on the top floor, a mezzanine level with a sofa bed, and a ground-floor lounge and dining area beside a modern kitchen.

The apartment is yours alone. Ground level includes the lounge, a separate kitchen for proper cooking, and a cloakroom. The Victorian staircase leads up to a mezzanine space—a gallery-like room with its own appeal—and the double bedroom with an ensuite shower room beyond. Parking is reserved on site. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. No smoking inside.

Whitby's coast and countryside are on the doorstep, whether you want days exploring the beach and cliffs or quieter time indoors. The unusual layout and period details make it feel less like standard holiday accommodation and more like staying somewhere with actual history.
