The Signal House

The Signal House occupies a distinctive spot next to the railway that runs into Whitby, giving you a front-row view of the heritage steam locomotives that pass through during summer months. The enclosed rear garden and patio face the tracks—a genuine draw if you want to watch the engines arrive. From here, Whitby harbour is a short walk downhill on level ground, and the town centre takes around five minutes to reach on foot. You have private parking for two cars.

The layout spreads across three floors. On the ground floor, a combined living and dining space opens into a well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar, gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher and all the essentials for cooking proper meals. There's also a separate toilet here. The first floor holds two bedrooms—a double and a twin—both with views toward the harbour and train line, plus a family bathroom with a bath and shower. The top floor is the master suite: a kingsize bedroom with views across the upper harbour and its own ensuite shower cubicle. This arrangement works well for families or groups of up to seven people who want their own spaces.

Electricity, gas heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered in the price. One pet stays free; a second pet incurs a small supplement. No smoking is permitted inside.
