Waterstead Cottage dates to the 1600s and retains the character of a traditional stone building, complete with a wood-burning stove that provides both heating and genuine comfort. It stands close to Whitby's marina, putting you within easy reach of the quayside, cobbled streets and independent shops that make the town distinctive. The cottage is yours alone during your stay, with private parking for one car and a garden with patio seating.
The ground floor is open-plan, combining living, dining and kitchen areas. Two bedrooms sleep five: one has a double bed, the other contains a double bunk with a single above it. There's a bathroom with bath and shower. The kitchen is equipped for cooking, and essentials like bed linen, towels and logs for the stove are provided. If you're travelling with a small child, a travel cot and highchair are available. One well-behaved dog can stay for no extra charge.
Whitby's pub within a mile offers evening food and drink. The railway station is a short walk away, connecting to the North York Moors Railway and steam train excursions through the surrounding landscape. The Abbey ruins overlook the town from the cliff top.

Beautiful cottage, photos on the brochure do not do it justice. Lovely enclosed private garden will definitely stay here again. Compared to other properties in Whitby that we have stayed in this cottage is by far the best. We will be staying again guaranteed.
