About Rivington House
Rivington House suits couples and travellers after a peaceful, grown-up stay rather than a family holiday base. Set on Prospect Hill in Whitby, it's an adults-only guesthouse handy for exploring the town and Whitby Abbey without the hassle of finding somewhere to park.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, drinks available in-room, and free WiFi throughout, with 24 hour reception on hand whenever you arrive or need assistance. There's a garden to sit out in, and free on-site parking takes away one of the usual headaches of visiting a coastal town in season.
Whitby itself is within easy reach for pubs, restaurants and entertainment, and the surrounding area offers walking and cycling routes, golf, fishing and watersports for those wanting to get outdoors. It's a straightforward, well-placed spot for a quiet break rather than a destination with facilities of its own.
What guests say
Gill was a lovely and helpful host. The rooms was huge and well provided, fridge, coat rack, en suite was lovely and clean. We came on the park and were very happy with the parking option and would definitely return. There were treats in the fridge and plenty of coffe and tea. A great stay.

My fiance & I stayed at the rivington on our engagement weekend/goth weekend, it was fantastic , close enough to the action & far enough away for a great nights sleep, we wer met by owner gill who was in the garden & showed to our spotless room, strict no smoking policy that was fine with us 👌, quality tea , coffee & snacks in room & a small fridge. The bed was super comfy & we wer not disturbed at all over our stay. Will definitely stay again,,,, off road parking is free at the side & it's easy to find as you arrive,,,,, very happy, thank you gill x
