The Wensleydale Hut
North Yorkshire
Photo: Google Maps
Rathmell sits within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, close enough to Settle and Skipton for market-day trips, and positioned on a working sheep and beef farm along the Ribbleway footpath. The Wensleydale Hut itself is a ground-floor space with an open-plan living and dining area, a separate double bedroom, and a shower room. A sofa bed and pull-down single in the living space mean four people can sleep here, though the layout is compact. The kitchen has an electric hob, combi microwave-oven, and coffee machine; essentials like heating, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included.
Outdoors, you get private parking for two cars, a bike store, and a designated seating area with a table and chairs—useful for morning coffee or evening meals. There's also a BBQ on the property. A travel cot and highchair are available if needed. The hut is set back on a private lane with views across the Dales, positioned so neighbouring properties aren't visible. Walking distance or a short drive reaches Malham Cove, Bolton Abbey, Gisburn Forest, the Ribblehead Viaduct and various cave systems. No smoking inside.
