What visitors say
We had the most peaceful and romantic stay at Hollow Gill Huts in Rathmell. The shepherd’s hut is beautifully decorated, cosy, and thoughtfully designed — every detail feels carefully chosen to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The hosts were excellent, adding so many wonderful little touches that made our stay extra special and personal. It really felt like a home away from home. The location is perfect for exploring the area and ideal if you’re tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks — a fantastic base for walking and climbing. Even visiting during what must have been the wettest February on record, we had the most relaxing and restorative break. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful countryside escape.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hollow Gill. We met Emma on arrival and she was really friendly, helpful and made us feel at home. The hut had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. As well as a double bed, the hut had bunk beds, but as there were only two of us,the bunk beds converted into a seating area for us to sit and read our books or watch tv in the evening. The kitchen had plenty of utensils to make cooking easy and the breakfast box we ordered lasted us for three mornings! The icing on the cake was the stunning views from the hut, made even more special by the lambs skipping about in the next field. We would definately recommend!

You must visit!! Honestly found an absolute hidden gem here! Everything has been thought about in putting together these lovely huts. It was absolutely spotlessly clean and so cosy the underfloor heating is a treat! The positioning of the 3 huts they have at Hollow Gill make it so private but each having a wonderful view! Attention to detail is outstanding. Then there are the hosts Emma and her family are the cherry on the top! So welcoming and made us feel at home straight away. We will be returning there’s so much to do in the area and this is the perfect place to stay to do it!
