Peaks and Pods

My husband booked here as a surprise visit for my birthday as I’ve always wanted to stay in one of these. When we arrived there was birthday balloons and banners which were lovely along with a welcome cake. My husband said they were always very easy to communicate with and lovely helpful people. The views were amazing, the pod was very clean, and the hot tub was lovely too. Such a nice place to get away from “mum and dad” to husband and wife for a couple of nights. The only downfall was the size of the shower. My husband is 6’4 and could only just about stand up in there and had to put his arms up in the air because couldn’t move anywhere (was quite funny but not ideal) I’m also slim and average height and struggled to have a shower due to there only being enough space to just about stand up in the shower let alone bend or move your arms to have a wash. (I do believe there are showers on sight so if you stay for a while I’d suggest maybe enquiring about these) also the cushion for the outdoor swing had mould on it i assume due to being stored outside, being kept somewhere inside may be a better idea to avoid this happening. Other than that we had an amazing time and would definitely visit again! Thankyou

We had an amazing stay, hot tubs was lovely and clean, fire kit was ready for us to pick up when we arrived, key lock on the pod so no worries about having to rush over to check in, an amazing cake to welcome us! Just awesome! So clean and well looked after, a huge amount of love, care and pride went into this place and we can't wait to come back 😊

Just to add we did email and reach out to the site owners before writing this review but we didn’t get much of an apology , we do feel this is a fair review. This was an our third visit to the site. We have family in Settle so the location is good for visiting them and also the site is quiet which is good for our son who has a disability. Obviously as this was our third visit we have really enjoyed our previous visits so returned this time but for a longer stay. The site is in a lovely location however this time we encountered quite a few issues which would probably put us off visiting again as a lot of the issues were known about before we arrived but not resolved during our stay (mon-Friday) so it was quite a long time to put up with some of the issues without any warning or checking in with us. They also impacted our son if he’s happy we’re happy if he’s unhappy we know about it. Upon arrival we went to our pod and put the code in for our key but it didn’t work we kept trying to no avail. Our son was becoming disregulated at this point stressing we weren’t going to get in the pod.( our son is disabled so it doesn’t take long for him to become upset) Thankfully one of the housekeeping ladies was still on site so we explained we couldn’t get in the key box. She explained she knew the problem we had been given the wrong code and that at some point someone was supposed to come and change it but they hadn’t. The site owner had been in touch via message that morning to ask us to pay our £10 for the bbq pack which I couldn’t figure out how to pay online. ( we assumed we would sort when on site or if we hadn’t paid we just wouldn’t receive the bbq pack ) we did manage to pay for it and replied saying we had whilst messaging there was no mention of the wrong code. Upon letting us in the pod the housekeeping lady explained the previous guests had reported a loud bathroom fan. She said that it would hopefully be getting sorted the next day I said that was great as we were there mon-Friday so the noise wasn’t ideal given we have an autistic son who doesn’t cope well with loud noises. The fan was never sorted and it wasn’t communicated that it wasn’t getting sorted. So in the night we couldn’t turn the light on in the bathroom as it woke our son up who struggles with sleep. The noise also caused him distress as she cannot cope with loud noises. The fan was also kicking out dirt so upon entering the bathroom the shower was dirty , when we used the shower we had to clean it first and whilst showering it kicked dirt/dust on us. On the first day we attempted to put the TV on it kept flashing a red light and then when it eventually came on it was frozen. We had to google how to rectify this we did message the site owners but weren’t met with much help. We found it we turned it off at the mains every time it often would turn on ok or we would have to turn it on/off at the mains a few times to get it to work. Again our son had been previously and knew there was a TV with Netflix so had planned movies for us to watch whilst away the Tv problem caused him upset/disregulation. We though someone may message to check in the next day to see if we had got the TV working but they didn’t maybe that’s on us as business owners ourselves that’s just how we would have dealt with it. The BBQ required us to clean it before we could use it. We also found a few nails sticking out of the wall inside the pod we found them originally as I caught my arm on one my partner did bend them in to stop our son catching himself on them. We appreciate these things happen (although it seemed we were quite unlucky as a lot happened all in once visit) and we were visiting at a busy time. But for the luxury price tag & name we did expect better customer care. Maybe we were spoilt on our previous visits as we never had any issues, they were also shorter visits.

Came in June for my birthday first time ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT❤️ CLEAN, WARM, HAD EVERYTHING YOU NEEDED AND HOT TUB WAS BRILLIANT. HOMEMADE CAKE ON ARRIVAL PERFECT BIRTHDAY CAKE❤️ DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING YOU CAN'T IMPROVE ON PERFECTION! due to come again in November for couple rest days before mad times with Christmas can't wait. Thank you
