Whitby's cobbled streets, working harbour and clifftop abbey make it one of England's most distinctive seaside towns. Whalers Cottage sits in the heart of it, a four-storey townhouse that sleeps five across two bedrooms and a bathroom. The ground floor has a kitchen and dining space with a gas cooker, dishwasher and electric woodburner. Upstairs, a living room with a gas fire and smart TV opens onto the first floor, while two bedrooms occupy the second and third storeys—a kingsize on the second, and a double plus single on the third. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included.
The cottage puts you close to the beach and the harbour, and Whitby Abbey—the ruined monastery that inspired Bram Stoker—overlooks the town from the East Cliff. Independent shops, cafes and fish and chip restaurants line the old streets. Most of what matters in Whitby is walkable from here. The property is non-smoking and welcomes families with young children, for whom a travel cot and highchair are available. Parking is in a public car park at additional cost.
