About Bankfoot Camping
Bankfoot Camping sits just outside Stocksfield in Northumberland, offering a straightforward, genuinely welcoming base for exploring Hadrian's Wall, the North Pennines and the Northumbrian countryside. The site has 37 grass pitches in total – some with optional electric hook-up – and campfires are allowed, giving evenings a proper outdoor feel. Dogs are welcome, facilities include showers, toilets and drinking water, and families find it relaxed and easy-going.
Campers appreciate the friendly, laid-back atmosphere and the rural setting, though it's worth noting there's no chemical disposal point on site and facilities can feel a little basic. What visitors say
Absolutely fantastic camp site. The grass is well maintained, ground is soft. Fires allowed in fire pits and logs available to buy on site. The views and the tranquility here really make it an exceptional place to visit especially when looking for a 'dark skies' site to watch meteor showers or general star gazing. Facilities are great, proper flushing toilets and probably the best hot water shower I have used on a camp site. Thank you, i will visit again soon

Stayed at Bankfoot Camping site for the weekend with family in 3 tents. Such a Lovely simple campsite with beautiful scenery, the owner Susan was absolutely lovely and went above and beyond!! Clean toilets, shower facilities and drinking water readily available. The Campfire hire and fire wood (provided by Susan) added a lovely touch to our stay. Lovely clean & quiet campsite, will definitely return for future trips. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful place x

3 of us and a dog stayed here over two pitches this weekend. Really lovely campsite in a spot close to many walking areas. Nice clean toilets and shower facilities a bonus too. Host was lovely and checked in on us, chatted to us and provided great advice on places to go, couldn’t recommend it enough.

Well…. I don’t know where to start. I’ve given this site one star but even that is being too generous. A trailer pulled into a field with mobile toilets and a shower fitted on top doesn’t really cut it. The facilities were that basic it was untrue. Due to a massive blockage in the sewage system as we arrived the men’s toilets backed up and were out of action for the whole time that we were there so the men had to share the ladies portable trailer toilets and one shower and even one of those toilets was out of action so we were down to two for the whole site. I might also add that the single hand sink only had cold water and there were no washing up facilities whatsoever. I will say in the owners defence that she came across as a lovely person but I’m quite sure that if she holidayed at someone’s campsite she would certainly expect better than she is offering her guests. I personally having stayed at many many campsites across the country this site doesn’t come upto anywhere near what is expected. I was glad to pack up in the morning and leave as quick as possible.
