About Budle Bay Campsite
Tucked near Belford with the Northumberland coast within easy reach, Budle Bay Campsite spreads across a generous site offering everything from riverside grass pitches to ensuite glamping lodges. You'll find over 100 pitch options here – standard and super-sized spots on both hardstanding and grass, some hugging the riverbank – plus a collection of dog-friendly wooden huts and lodges for those after a bit more comfort. Electric hook-up is available across the board, and dogs are welcome throughout.
The on-site food offerings (pizza and coffee) earn particular praise from visitors, as does the helpfulness of the staff. Facilities can feel a little tired in places and rule enforcement isn't always consistent, but for a straightforward, well-positioned base to explore Northumberland's castles, beaches and wide skies, Budle Bay ticks the boxes.

What visitors say
We booked late on a saturday mid summer season and had a fab pitch for our first run out with our tent box we were right next to the shower block and water station. Staff were lovely and helpful. The prices in the food hut are very reasonable. Everything was very clean and looked after. We had a medium gravel pitch and that was perfect for us. Loads of room to move the truck about and they gave us great advice and getting the most out of our pitch. We had a great stay. Only downside was WiFi doesn’t stretch that far but it was nice being off grid for a bit. Next time I will organise myself to have downloaded films on Netflix to watch at night. There is a nice play park for kids too.

We booked the campsite for 10 nights with our caravan plus awning. Our pitch had it's own electric and water connection and was just across from the riverside pitches. The site is in an excellent location for many of the beautiful sights and walks along the Northumberland coast and within walking distance of the coastal path. The small onsite café, Budle Bites, was a real bonus with good food options at great prices. (We recommend the pizzas and the ice-cream!). We found the staff very friendly and helpful which always helps to make a stay more enjoyable. Some pitches did appear to be a bit close together but we were happy with ours.

We had such a wonderful time here! The site was great for pitch up, facilities were spot on, food was brilliant and for the portions sizes and pricing were amazing! They have a little shop/reception in site that have lots of things they you may need if you forget anything. Staff were lovely and my little boy lovely the park! The only downside I would give, would be not allowing firepits, vans with rooftents on and the park play wooden structure could do with a refresh/update. With thoughroughly enjoyed it and will definitely come back!

"If you are not happy you are more then welcome to vacate the site early". Booked a riverside pitch as shown in the photos. The pitch was located at the far end of the site which was fine. They lock the gate between 11pm & 7am, even though there is a code operated barrier restricting access. This meant leaving the car outside the main site overnight night. My partner has mobility issues so car is the best option when needing to use the on site facilities. As an early riser I take the opportunity to do some early morning photography so parked up outside the gate only to find at 5am the next morning the gate wasn't even closed, let alone locked. The electric @ £7.50 per night would maybe be better offered on a card meter, but we needed it for medical equipment. Overall the best thing about the site is it's location, that's why I chose it. Make sure you read the site rules, the quote at the start of my review was the response to my comment about feeling like a prison, I've never been on a site that locks you in at night. I would just add I never used the on site cafe/takeaway.
