About Fell Farm Hideaway
They must be doing something very right at Fell Farm Hideaway, 20 minutes' drive from Hexham in Northumberland, as guests just keep on coming back year after year. Perhaps it's the well-designed log cabins set on a working farm within walking distance of Hallington Reservoir? Sleeping up to four, each cosily kitted-out unit sits amid greenery for privacy, with uninterrupted views over farmland. Inside you'll find bespoke kitchens, a living space with comfy sofa bed, TV and dining table, plus ensuite bathrooms with large showers and heated towel rails. Sauna access is available by arrangement too.
Outside, private decking with picnic tables makes the most of the setting. Designed as rural retreats for a low-impact stay, the cabins have limited mobile signal – many guests embrace the chance to switch off completely. Handy for Northumberland walking holidays, the site offers easy access to Hadrian's Wall (10 minutes) and North Sea beaches including Druridge Bay (50 minutes). It's a peaceful, wildlife-rich spot that works beautifully for walkers, families and those seeking spectacular countryside with very few neighbours.

What visitors say
Fabulous weekend getaway. We travelled to stay for bank holiday weekend. Only a short drive from Newcastle airport is this little slice of heaven. Pods were very cosy, comfortable and warm. There are four pods with their own separate entrances located in a picturesque little valley along the banks of a stream. Each pod has its own balcony positioned to ensure maximum privacy. The host’s couldn’t do enough for us, they provided us with all the details in advance of our arrival and recommended some wonderful local cafes, restaurants and sites to visit. The pod was spotlessly clean, bed was very comfortable and the silence at night was glorious. We loved the idea of the wheel barrows for moving our bags from the carpark to our pod. We availed of the onsite sauna which was very easy to book, enjoying the views out across the beautiful Colwell countryside. Despite the January weather we were still able to sit out on our balcony with blankets provide, enjoying the views, spotting local wildlife, calves playing in the field and just enjoying the peace and quiet. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here and we will definitely be back because of the hospitality, quality of accommodation and convenience of location.

Booked 3 pods for a family birthday get away. Had an absolute brilliant time, it was like clarksons farm, the animals created all sorts of mischief, fantastic. Brendon was a brilliant host. Lovely clean spacious pods, well supplied with towels, cleaning products etc. The living room is larger than normal pods we have stayed in. Has a small tv in it but not sure if it was any good as we never used it. Wifi not the best but did work in a very rural location. Lots of wildlife, very peaceful. There are individual parking spaces depending which pod you are staying in, with your own wheel barrow to help transport your personal items to the pods. If you plan on cooking bring supplies as Hexham is the nearest place for shopping. Nice gas cooker. Boiler had a hive thermostat so that was easy to operate. Would highly recommend.

This is the most ideal place to go and chill out. No pressure, middle of no where and just peace. The pods are spacious and bright (bring a sleep mask) clean, and have everything you need. Next time we book we want to aim for the sauna pod as that looked cool. The bed was comfortable and so was the sofa bed too. Owners both seemed really lovely. I want to come back again as a chilled art weekend and take some time to just paint and draw there. I went with the kids this time and I felt totally safe with them playing out around our fenced in garden area at honey mug. Would 100% recommend. We loved the little touches of having salt, pepper, cooking oil and tea and coffee, cleaning products and loo roll,Those little things make a huge difference when we're packing. Thank you for a lovely stay, looking forward to next time.
