Sweethope Croft 1
Northumberland
Sweethope Croft 1 is a traditional stone cottage on the southern edge of Sweethope Lough, part of the Ray Estate in rural Northumberland. The building sits at ground floor level only, with everything on one storey: a combined living and dining space, kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom. A woodburner anchors the main room, and the open-plan layout keeps the cottage's character with exposed beams intact.
Two double beds and a bunk bed provide sleeping for four. The kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave and washer-dryer for self-catering stays. Electricity and towels come as standard, and the owner supplies kindling and logs for the fire, plus a welcome pack of basics. An enclosed garden with furniture offers a private outdoor space, and there is parking for two cars on site. One well-behaved pet is welcome.
The lough itself is known for trout and fly fishing, and the cottage sits within easy reach of Sweethope's own activities. The surrounding landscape is open countryside and woodland; this is genuinely isolated rather than merely quiet. No smoking inside.
