Marley's Retreat is a first-floor apartment in Holywell village, where the River Dene runs through a wooded valley behind the property. The location puts you steps from both the water and the pub—one is just a minute's walk away—and within easy reach of several miles of coastline. The apartment sleeps five across two bedrooms: one with a super king bed, the other with bunk beds (double below, single above). There is one bathroom with bath and shower, and a living room with smart TV. The kitchen has what you need to cook proper meals, including a gas oven and hob, microwave, and washing machine. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are included; pets stay free.
The Northumberland coast here offers a range of destinations. Seaton Sluice, three miles away, is a quieter sandy beach popular with those seeking calm water. Whitley Bay, where the Spanish City's renovated dome now houses champagne bars and restaurants, has wider appeal and a long promenade walk that continues through Cullercoats to Tynemouth. That stretch draws families with its mix of seaside atmosphere, swimming spots, rock pools and restaurants. Tynemouth adds a Sealife Centre, the ruins of its medieval abbey, and coves suitable for surfing. Inland, Hadrian's Wall and Northumberland National Park are within a day's travel, while Newcastle is accessible by metro or bus if you want to leave the car behind. No smoking inside the property; parking is on road.
