Sugar Sands beach is a mile away, and the Northumberland coast's walking routes start practically from the door. Alnwick itself, four miles south, has a castle famous from the Harry Potter films, plus shops and restaurants dotted through the surrounding villages. Craster is close by for harbour-side pubs and crab-fishing heritage. The cottage sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Heritage Coastal route, which means genuine countryside rather than developed seafront.

Alncroft has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, sleeping six. Downstairs: a living and dining room with TV and DVD player, a kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and washing machine, and a bathroom with roll-top bath and shower. Upstairs: two double bedrooms and one with twin singles, plus a shower room. An enclosed front garden with patio and a rear courtyard with garden furniture and BBQ offer outdoor space.
