Blue House

Northumberland

Elsdon is a quietly situated Northumbrian village where Blue House, a double-fronted stone property from 1782, faces directly onto the village green. The house sits in countryside that draws walkers and those exploring the region, yet the village itself remains the focal point—a setting that appeals to families wanting a village-centre base rather than isolated countryside.

Ground floor accommodation includes a living room with a woodburner in a large fireplace, a separate dining room, and a well-equipped kitchen where you can cook proper meals. There is also a shower room on this level. Upstairs, four bedrooms provide sleeping space for seven: three kingsize beds and one bedroom with a single and a child's bed. A family bathroom with bath and overhead shower completes the first floor. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are covered; wi-fi is available throughout. An initial supply of logs for the woodburner is provided, and a travel cot and highchair are available if needed.

The property is yours entirely, with parking for three cars on site and an enclosed, west-facing garden. One dog stays free of charge. The house does not permit smoking. Arrival is after 5pm and checkout before 10am.

This property is high quality, spacious and very comfortable. Set on the edge of the green, with a super pub almost next door, and a lovely historical church and a motte in sight of the property. This was our first visit to Northumberland and we found the location ideal for exploring the coastline, nearby castles and the hills.

BOOK HERE,it’s like walking into a second home. We had the best staycation ever. From lighting fires, to cooking home cooked meals in a fully equipped kitchen to comfy beds and country walks. We couldn’t have asked for more. Plus, the cottage is dog friendly and has dog friendly pub next door, so your puppy is happy too. They do a superb Sunday roast and fab beer. Welcome basket was a lovely surprise and was picked with delicious goodies. Thanks for a brilliant stay

Just returned after a week at this beautiful cottage. Amazing facilities, a real home from home with everything you could possibly need…and more. Full of old charm and lovey features, the wood burning stoves were lovey. Hamper for our arrival, full of essentials was a lovey touch. I would recommend this cottage, even has a pub next door….
