Low West opens directly into a living room with an open fire, leading through to a kitchen and dining space equipped for proper cooking—there's an electric cooker, oil Aga, dishwasher and all the basics for preparing meals. A utility room with washing machine sits on the ground floor. Upstairs, the first bedroom holds a double bed (4ft 6in), the second has two single beds (3ft each), and there's a bathroom with bath and shower over. The cottage sleeps four, with a cot and highchair available if needed.

The stone building stands on its own south-facing ground near Hexham, a mile from the market square with its shops, restaurants and racing. Oil central heating runs throughout, with electricity, bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and fire fuel all included. The enclosed garden has patio space and furniture for sitting out, plus a BBQ. Private parking for two cars is on site, and there's a bike store. One well-behaved pet stays free. No smoking inside.

Hexham itself offers a golf course, fishing, riding and sports facilities locally. Kielder Water and Newcastle are both 24 miles away; the Scottish borders are easily reached from here.

Lovely cottage , yes it's dated , but that's part of the charm . It is older than the properties at Beamish ! Our host was very welcoming . Loved sitting out in the garden in our chairs ,we brought from home , so peaceful and private . But saying that we did have visitors ❤️

Loverly rustic cottage we and our dogs loved it decoration is a bit tired in places but only adds to the charm, everything you need is there the aga was new to us but we loved using it, we were there in February and it was very cosy we only needed the central heating for a couple of hours in the morning and the open fire in the evenings

This is a lovely old fashioned cottage, we spent a great week here with the dogs, great base for touring the Hadrian's Wall area. Decoration could do with a bit of a spruce up but nothing off putting. We found the paintings in the second bedroom rather unsettling and was glad no one had to sleep in there. We said good morning to them everyday and they didn't disturb us much apart from hiding the cheese and one of my wife's earrings! Enjoyed the slow pace of cooking in the Aga and the steam powered microwave was a delight!
