About Travelodge Hexham
Hexham's market-town streets, Abbey and Old Gaol are within walking distance of Travelodge Hexham, and the surrounding Northumberland countryside, including Hadrian's Wall and the National Park, is easily reached from here too. The hotel occupies a straightforward spot at Unit 3, with free on-site parking in the council-owned car park at the front, including electric vehicle charging points.
The hotel has 69 rooms across four floors, all with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and free WiFi, plus family rooms for those travelling with children and drinks available in-room. A lift serves all floors, and reception is staffed around the clock. Pets are welcome, making it a straightforward base for those exploring the area with a dog in tow.
A restaurant on site serves breakfast, and further pubs, restaurants and entertainment can be found nearby in Hexham itself, along with a golf course for those wanting to fill an afternoon. Rooms are kept clean and modern with comfortable beds, and staff have a reputation for being helpful and professional, which counts for a lot on a stop-off between the Wall and the Northumberland hills.
What guests say
We had a lovely two-night stay here and would definitely return. We were on the third floor and had a fantastic view over Hexham. The room was spacious, spotless, and very quiet — exactly what you want for a relaxing stay. We booked a family room, which included a trundle bed under the double bed as well as an additional single bed to the side, giving us plenty of space. The sheets were lovely crisp cotton, and the room was well equipped with air conditioning, heating, a kettle, complimentary tea and coffee, mugs, and comfortable chairs. The bathroom was also very clean, with a great shower and plenty of toilet roll provided for the duration of our stay. I also liked the fully moulded bathroom design, which helps keep everything looking fresh and hygienic. A big plus for us was the parking — there were plenty of spaces available, which is something many Travelodges seem to struggle with these days, either charging extra or not providing enough spaces at all. We didn’t try the food, so can’t comment on that, but the hotel is only a short walk into Hexham, making it a very convenient location. The staff were friendly throughout our stay, and a special mention goes to the lady on reception who helped me — I didn’t catch her name, but she was absolutely lovely. Overall, I’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking for somewhere convenient and comfortable near Hexham.

Clean and quiet - Thank-you. Reception staff have been brilliant in sorting out our booking. A little further out of town than I needed but still very accessible for the auctions.

I am so impressed with this Travelodge. It must be the best in the country. Its in a great location, you can walk to much of anything to see in Hexham, it's within walking distance to the railway station, serves great food/buffet breakfast, and the staff are amazing. Clearly Travelodge is raising its game. Thoroughly recommend this hotel, and we as a family will be back!

A very new and spotlessly clean hotel, with sizable rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, and a great location. A couple of minutes walk from the railway station, alternatively there is plenty of free parking on site. There's a McDonald's and a Lidl next door, and a large Tesco just around the corner. Walking into Hexham centre is around 7-10 minutes. A perfect choice for visiting Hexham, or a great base for exploring Hadrian's Wall. The only slight disappointment was the shower, which had a strange retaining clip which made it a little difficult to have a decent shower. Irritating, but hardly a deal breaker. All in all, very highly recommended.
