The Smithy is a detached stone cottage built in the mid-nineteenth century, situated at the end of a quiet private lane in Ovington. The building retains its period character while offering modern essentials: heating, electricity, Wi-Fi and all bed linen and towels are provided. One dog stays free.
Inside, the single bedroom has a double bed (4ft 6in). The first-floor living room contains a sofa bed suitable for one adult, along with a TV and DVD player. Downstairs, the kitchen/dining room is equipped for cooking and eating together, with an electric cooker, microwave and fridge. The bathroom has a bath with shower over. A travel cot and highchair are available if needed, and there is bike storage and an electric car charging point. Parking is 75 metres away, though you can unload at the door. No smoking inside.
Ovington sits in the Tyne Valley, roughly midway between Hexham and Gateshead (both about 13 miles away). A pub is within a mile, and the village itself is walking distance. Prudhoe, just over a mile south, has a country park on the river Tyne nearby.
