When we lived locally this used to be our go-to restaurant of choice - and there is plenty of decent competition. The food was really very good, surprisingly so as the venue doesn't look like it serve food as good as it does. Give it try and you won't be disappointed. If we're ever out that way we do make a point of eating there. A great little find.

Warm, cosy room with plentiful supplies for making tea, coffee, hot chocolate. Our room had a shared bathroom but we never saw anyone else using it. The breakfast which we ate in the pub was outstanding. Very good value for money

Fantastic setting by the water. Tracey and the team provided a great brunch for our cycling club (about 30 people). Very grateful, very well looked after

The King's Head is, without exaggeration, one of the best pubs I’ve ever had dinner in—and that’s saying something. We visited three times during our stay in the area, and every single visit was consistently excellent. The food is on another level: beautifully cooked, full of flavour, and clearly made with real attention to detail. It’s the kind of place where every dish feels thought through rather than just standard pub fare. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between relaxed pub and high-quality dining, and the whole experience feels polished without being pretentious. Honestly, the standard of food here is so high it wouldn’t feel out of place in a Michelin-starred restaurant. If you’re anywhere near Coltishall, this place is an absolute must-visit.
