About The Perle Oban Hotel & Spa

The Perle Oban Hotel & Spa occupies a substantial building dating from 1882 in the centre of town, close to the harbour, station and ferry terminal. Formerly known as the Oban Caledonian Hotel, the property has been renovated under the Perle Hotels brand while keeping its historic exterior and central position.

The Mara Spa offers body treatments, scrubs and massages for guests wanting to unwind after a day on the water or the hills, and the BAAB restaurant serves Mediterranean-influenced dishes alongside sea views over the harbour. Rooms range from standard doubles through to superior and suite categories.

Its town-centre position is one of the most convenient in Oban, within walking distance of the station, ferry terminal, distillery and harbourside seafood stalls, making it a practical choice for visitors without a car or catching an early sailing to the islands.

We stayed for two nights. It was a lovely time and the hotel was well centred to the town and train station. The room was large, well designed and had a great view of the harbour. The bed was a little hard for my liking. The reception team was friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was nice with a good selection of options, however the service from the breakfast team was not that good. The second morning was better than the first but still not what I’d except for a 4* hotel. The spa was a nice surprise. We didn’t book it for the spa but it was a brilliant touch after we got cold and wet when hiking. The little salt sauna was excellent and the steam room was perfect for two. Overall we were happy with our stay and if we go back to Oban we would stay again

Myself and my partner stopped here. The room was very well presented, and the bed was super comfortable. The view was nice and the location was excellent, even though a little noisy at weekend but nothing too disturbing. Thoroughly enjoyed the food. The barman, William, was friendly and helpful with suggestions despite being rushed off his feet (it appeared that he was the only staff member on the bar area at the time). The wait time to be served could have been better but we were more than understanding due to the situation out of his control. Reception staff were happy and welcoming also (sorry I didnt get your name). I would definitely stop here again thanks to the excellent customer service. 5* service Well done guys

This place was over the top. The staff was over the top. Laura was kind enough to print our boarding pass, grab a chocolate pastie after breakfast hours. And upon returning late from our three isle tour, Beatrice was kind enough to let us be served for dinner, after the restaurant stopped seating fifteen minutes prior. We were tired, cold and a little hungry, the food here is excellent. The kindness is heart warming. Very grateful! Janet Price and Leigh Dowdy

I stayed at Perle Oban for two nights and overall found the experience quite mixed. The location is definitely a highlight very central and ideal for exploring Oban. Drink prices in the bar were also reasonable, which was a nice bonus. However, the room itself didn’t feel up to a 4 star standard, especially considering the price point, which felt expensive for what was offered. While the room was generally okay, there were a few issues that affected comfort. The bedside lamp had a broken light switch, the floor was noticeably slanted, and there was a noisy fan that made it difficult to sleep. There was also a strong draft coming through the windows. There also isn't any room service within this hotel. The hotel seemed more suited to an older crowd, and as we stayed during the off season, the bar was very quiet. Service was average nothing particularly stood out, but it could definitely be improved. Overall, it’s a decent option for the location and fairly priced drinks, but it didn’t meet expectations for a 4 star hotel, especially given the cost. Don't think I would give it a go again.
